Getwireless.net offers three connection options: (1) wireless broadband, (2) wired broadband, and (3) high-speed dial-up. You can make use of one, two, or all three!
Getwireless.net professionally mounts an antenna on your building (typically the roof), then runs an Ethernet cable down the outside wall of your business (we try to follow a rain gutter or other structure to hide the cable). We then bring the wire into your building by drilling a small hole or following an existing entry into the building, such as a duct or prior cable, phone or satellite TV installation entry. The Ethernet cable is typically installed into your phone room or demarkation point. If you need additional cabling or setup done, this can be quoted or done on an hourly basis.

Wireless Internet access requires a "line-of-site" connection from your building to one of our towers. This means that any large trees, buildings or other obstructions may cause a degraded level of service. Our installers do a site survey before installing to make sure that there is a good signal. Weather will not typically cause a degradation of service, even in very severe storms. Your connection should remain stable even during winter months or other stormy periods. As with any service including, phone, electric or cable, if there is storm damage from a severe storm, our technicians will respond quickly to any outage.
Minimum requirements: Recommended requirements: Pentium 233mhz or higher; Windows 98 or higher; 64MB RAM or higher; 100MB free hard drive space. You need to have an Ethernet jack on the computer for us to connect to our service. All newer computers have this jack; for an older computer there are cards and other options to add an Ethernet jack, and these are available at any computer store.
Unlike dial-up, our service is always on. This means that there is no dialing, no waiting, and no need for a second phone line. There is also a dramatic difference in speed - Getwireless.net is more than 100 times faster than dial-up service.
We can typically have service installed within several days of placing an order. Once we've determined that the service will work at your location, it takes about 2-3 hours to hook everything up.

If you already have e-mail accounts, you can access these accounts over the Getwireless.net Internet connection.
In many cases to block spam we block port 25, so you may need to work with your email vendor so that you can send mail on a port other than 25.
We have designed our wireless network to be as reliable as any wired network.
